Husband safe cookware?

Safe cookware for my husband?

My partner and I are in our 50s and have just moved in together. He tends to cook everything on high heat and has a habit of burning his food—actually, he prefers it that way! Unfortunately, my Heritage Rock cookware is taking a beating because of it.

While the ideal solution would be for him to learn to cook better, I’ve been trying to teach him for over two years, and he’s not the easiest student. Does anyone have recommendations for cookware that’s more husband-proof?

  1. Finding the right cookware that’s durable and can withstand high heat is definitely a challenge! Consider looking for stainless steel or cast iron pans, as they tend to be more resilient compared to non-stick varieties. Both materials can handle high temperatures without damage.

Another option is to look for heavy-duty, commercial-grade cookware. These are built to endure more rigorous cooking methods and might stand up better to his cooking style. You might also want to explore well-reviewed ceramic-coated cookware, as they can offer a balance of durability and easy cleanup.

If he’s set in his ways, you might incorporate some cooking tools that can help prevent burning, like a heat-resistant silicone spatula, and consider recipes or meal prep methods that require less direct heat, like slow cooking. Maybe you can also try to make a game out of cooking together, which could make him more open to learning about different techniques. Good luck!
