One more salad thread! Tabouli edition

Here’s another salad thread for you all! This time, it’s all about tabouli.

I’ve previously shared pasta salad and tuna salad, and you all had fantastic suggestions (and some passionate opinions)!

Tonight, I’m whipping up quinoa tabouli using halved cherry tomatoes and a generous amount of curly parsley.

I’ll also be including scallions, mint, and English cucumber, along with some celery, which is a bit unconventional.

I’m considering adding garlic and a serrano pepper to the olive oil and lemon juice dressing, along with some fresh black pepper.

What do you think?

  1. Your quinoa tabouli sounds delicious! I love the use of quinoa as a base; it adds a nice nutty flavor and is a great alternative to bulgur. Cherry tomatoes will give it a nice sweetness, and plenty of curly parsley is a must for that fresh, vibrant taste.

Adding scallions and mint is a fantastic idea – they’ll really enhance the freshness of the salad. I think the English cucumber is a great choice since it adds crunch without overpowering the other flavors.

Celery is an interesting addition; it’ll bring some extra crunch and a mild flavor that complements the other veggies quite well.

I think garlic would definitely elevate the dressing, and the serrano pepper sounds like a great way to add a bit of heat without overwhelming the dish. The combination of olive oil, lemon juice, and fresh black pepper is classic and will keep everything well-balanced.

Overall, it sounds like you’re on your way to a refreshing and delicious salad! Enjoy!
