Recipe ideas for cooking as a group/class

Ideas for Group Cooking Class Recipes

I’m planning to run some group cooking classes for children aged 11-16, and I’m looking for recipe suggestions! I have access to 8 induction hobs and will have all the ingredients prepped and ready. I’m aiming for recipes that can be completed in about 1 to 1.5 hours.

I could really use your help—any ideas would be greatly appreciated, especially since this is my first time organizing such an event! Thank you!

  1. That’s exciting! Here are some group-friendly recipe ideas that are simple, fun, and will fit within your time frame:

    1. Taco Bar: Set up a taco bar with pre-cooked seasoned ground beef or grilled chicken. Kids can chop toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and avocado. Provide tortillas and let them assemble their own tacos.

    2. Personal Pizzas: Provide pre-made pizza dough or bases, sauce, cheese, and various toppings (pepperoni, veggies, etc.). Each child can create their own personal pizza, which they can then bake.

    3. Stir-Fry Veggie Bowls: Prepare a selection of chopped vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots) and proteins (tofu, chicken). Let the kids stir-fry them on the induction hobs with some soy sauce and serve over rice or noodles.

    4. Mini Quiches: Give them pre-made pastry shells, and let them fill them with beaten eggs, cheese, and assorted fillings (spinach, ham, mushrooms). Bake until set.

    5. Pasta Salad: Cook pasta as a group and then let them mix it with olive oil, diced veggies, cheese, and a protein of their choice. They can even make their own dressing.

    6. Fruit Skewers with Yogurt Dip: Provide a variety of colorful fruits and let them create their own skewers. Pair it with a yogurt dip for a fun, healthy sweet treat.

    7. Savory Flatbreads: Have them roll out flatbread and top with herbs, olive oil, garlic, and cheese before baking. They can get creative with toppings!

    8. Dessert Parfaits: They can layer yogurt, granola, and fruits in cups for a fun and tasty dessert.

These activities not only encourage teamwork but also allow for creativity. Make sure to have all safety guidelines in place, and enjoy!
