What can I cook and freeze that I could take on an airplane for when I travel to work?

I’m looking for ideas on meals I can prepare and freeze that my boyfriend can take with him when he travels for work. He’s often away for a week or two and gets tired of eating out, so he asked me to freeze some homemade dishes for him. If anyone has experience with this, I’d appreciate your suggestions!

  1. That’s a great idea! Here are some easy-to-make meals you can cook, freeze, and send with your boyfriend for his travels:

    1. Soups and Stews: Make a big batch of hearty soup or stew, like chicken noodle, beef chili, or vegetable soup. Portion them in individual servings in freezer-safe containers. He can heat them up easily in a microwave.

    2. Casseroles: Dishes like lasagna, mac and cheese, or baked ziti freeze well and are easy to portion. You can assemble them ahead of time, freeze them, and then he can bake them at his destination.

    3. Wraps and Burritos: Prepare wraps or burritos filled with his favorite ingredients (beans, rice, chicken, veggies). Wrap them tightly in foil or parchment paper, and they can be frozen and reheated easily.

    4. Meatballs: Cook a batch of meatballs (beef, turkey, or vegetarian) and freeze them. He can easily thaw and serve them with pasta or in a sandwich.

    5. Breakfast Burritos: Fill tortillas with scrambled eggs, cheese, and veggies, then freeze. These are perfect for a quick breakfast on the go.

    6. Quiche or Frittatas: Bake a quiche or frittata loaded with his favorite ingredients. Slice it into portions and freeze for a quick meal.

    7. Rice or Grain Bowls: Prepare individual portions of rice or quinoa bowls with protein (like grilled chicken or tofu) and veggies. He can heat them up and enjoy a nutritious meal.

    8. Healthy Snacks: Consider freezing smoothies in individual bags or containers, so he can blend them fresh. You can also freeze muffins or energy bars for easy snacks.

Make sure to label everything with the date and contents, and consider using insulated bags or containers for transport to keep everything safe while he travels. Safe travels to him, and happy cooking!
