When I was a kid and feeling under the weather, my go-to comfort food was chicken soup. My family made it from scratch using tender chicken, fresh veggies, and lots of herbs. It was warm and soothing, and the aroma always made me feel a bit better.
I’ve also heard about different cultural remedies—like congee in Chinese cuisine, which is a comforting rice porridge, or matzo ball soup in Jewish tradition. It’s fascinating how different cultures have their unique ways of nurturing loved ones when they’re unwell! What about you? What do you remember eating when you were sick?
