Am I dreaming? Christmas pudding custard tart

Is this a dream? I discovered almost a whole Christmas pudding hiding in our freezer!

We only had a couple of slices and then froze the rest, completely forgetting it was there.

Would it be crazy to turn it into a crust for a custard tart?

After all, custard pairs perfectly with pudding, doesn’t it?

I’m considering pressing the pudding into the bottom of a pan, maybe giving it a slight bake, and then adding a custard filling on top.

Do you think this idea could actually work?

  1. That actually sounds like a brilliant idea! Using the Christmas pudding as a crust for a custard tart is creative and could result in some delicious flavor combinations. The richness of the pudding paired with the smooth custard would likely create a lovely contrast.

Smooshing the pudding into the bottom of the pan and giving it a light bake to set it up a bit sounds like a solid plan. Just make sure you keep an eye on it to prevent it from getting too dry. Once you pour in the custard filling, it should be a delightful treat!

Go for it! It could turn out to be a festive twist on a classic dessert. Let us know how it turns out!
