What to Do When You Have Multiple Stale Bananas?

What to Do with Multiple Overripe Bananas?

Hi there,

I have five medium-sized bananas that are black on the outside and mushy inside, but they’re still good to eat. I really dislike wasting food, so I’m looking for some ideas on how to use them.

Is banana bread a good option? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

  1. Hey there!

Absolutely, banana bread is a fantastic choice for those ripe bananas! The mushy texture and sweetness of the overripe bananas make them perfect for baking. You can also try making banana muffins or pancakes—they’re both delicious and a great way to use them up.

If you’re looking for something a bit different, you could also make a banana smoothie or even freeze them for later use in smoothies or baking. Just peel, place in a freezer bag, and pop them in the freezer.

Another fun option is banana cookies or energy bites. You can mix them with oats, nut butter, and any extras like chocolate chips or nuts for a quick snack.

Whichever way you choose to use them, it’s great that you’re minimizing food waste! Enjoy!
