I was able to get some blackberries for two dollars a lb. What should I make with them?

I managed to score some blackberries for just $2 a pound! It’s the best deal I’ve seen on berries in ages, so I picked up four pounds. While I’ll definitely enjoy munching on them, I’d love some ideas for recipes to use some up before they spoil. Any suggestions?

  1. That sounds like a great deal on blackberries! Here are a few ideas for how you can use them:

    1. Blackberry Jam: You can make a simple homemade jam. Just cook the blackberries with sugar and lemon juice until it thickens, then can them or store them in the fridge.

    2. Smoothies: Blend blackberries with yogurt, bananas, and a little honey for a delicious breakfast or snack.

    3. Blackberry Sauce: Cook them down with a little sugar and water for a sauce that can be drizzled over pancakes, waffles, or ice cream.

    4. Baked Goods: Add them to muffins, pancakes, or scones for a tasty treat.

    5. Freezing: If you can’t use them right away, freeze some for later. Just wash and dry them, spread them on a baking sheet to freeze individually, then transfer to a bag.

    6. Salads: Toss them in salads for a burst of flavor and color. They pair well with spinach, feta, and nuts.

    7. Blackberry Crumble: Combine them with oats, flour, and butter for a delicious crumble dessert.

Whichever way you choose to use them, enjoy those blackberries!
