Can i reuse buttermilk marinade

Can I reuse buttermilk marinade? If I marinate chicken in buttermilk, can I use the leftover marinade for another batch of chicken within the same week?

  1. It’s generally not safe to reuse buttermilk marinade after marinating raw chicken. When you marinate chicken, the marinade can become contaminated with bacteria from the raw meat. While cooking can kill some bacteria, it’s best to avoid the risk altogether.

If you want to marinate another batch of chicken, it’s better to make a fresh batch of marinade. If you have leftover buttermilk marinade that hasn’t been in contact with raw meat, you can store it in the refrigerator for a few days and use it for other purposes, like salad dressings or marinades for vegetables. Just ensure that it remains safe to consume.
