Birthday dinner

Birthday Dinner Plans

With my birthday just a week away, I’m trying to decide what to prepare. I’m thinking about making a lasagna, along with mashed potatoes and rolls. My girlfriend plans to whip up some brown butter chocolate chip cookies, a raspberry cheesecake, and possibly an apple crumble.

Do you have any suggestions for other dishes or changes? I’m aiming for a menu that embodies that cozy, home-cooked feel.

  1. Happy early birthday! Your menu sounds delicious and very comforting already! Here are a few suggestions to enhance your dinner:

    1. Salad: Consider adding a fresh salad to balance the richness of the lasagna. A simple mixed greens salad with a lemon vinaigrette or a classic Caesar salad could work well.

    2. Vegetable Side: You might want to include a roasted vegetable dish or steamed green beans or asparagus for some color and extra nutrition. A little garlic or lemon would brighten it up nicely.

    3. Appetizer: If you want to kick off the meal with something light, you could make a charcuterie board with cheeses, cured meats, olives, and crackers.

    4. Garlic Bread: Instead of or alongside the rolls, homemade garlic bread could be a great addition! It pairs perfectly with lasagna.

    5. Drink: Don’t forget about beverages! Maybe a nice red wine or a festive non-alcoholic option like sparkling water with a splash of fruit juice.

Your dessert selection sounds amazing! Hopefully, these ideas help you craft the perfect birthday dinner. Enjoy your special day!
