Constantly getting tendon bits (?) in my ground beef

I’m frequently finding tough bits in my ground beef, and I can’t figure out why. I eat ground beef almost every day—it’s a staple for me. I used to buy it from Walmart, but since getting a Sam’s membership, I’ve been purchasing those large 10-pound packages. Lately, I’ve noticed an alarming number of these hard bits, which I think might be ligaments or tendons, in nearly every bite. I’m wondering if this is a quality issue with the meat from Sam’s Club or if I’m doing something wrong? Has anyone else experienced this? It’s particularly bothersome for me due to my sensory sensitivities.

  1. It sounds really frustrating to deal with those hard bits in your ground beef, especially if you eat it frequently. It’s possible that the quality of meat you’re getting from Sam’s Club differs from what you were used to at Walmart. Sometimes larger retailers or bulk suppliers can have variations in the meat quality, especially if the grind includes tougher parts of the animal.

    Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Check the Grind Type: Make sure you’re buying ground beef that specifies it’s made from a specific cut, like chuck or sirloin, rather than a mix that could include more connective tissue.

    2. Freshness: Try to check the freshness date or ask when the batch was made. Sometimes, fresher meat can be of better quality.

    3. Different Cuts: Consider grinding your own meat at home if you have a meat grinder. This way, you can control exactly what goes into your ground beef.

    4. Feedback to Store: If the problem persists, you might want to bring it to the attention of the staff at Sam’s Club. They may provide insight or address quality concerns.

    5. Try Other Brands: If the issue continues, you might want to try a different brand or find another store that offers ground beef you like better.

I hope this helps, and you can enjoy your meals without the discomfort of those bits!
