Time-Saving Cooking Tips You Might Not Know About
My wife often enjoys watching cooking shows, and I typically tune them out as background noise. However, one day, I caught an episode featuring professional chefs mentoring novices for a competition. I can’t remember the show’s name, but I ended up learning a valuable skill that has made a huge difference in my cooking.
It may sound trivial, especially to seasoned chefs, but I learned the proper way to dice onions. The chef demonstrated how to peel the onion, trim the non-root end, cut it in half lengthwise, make slicing cuts along the onion while leaving the root end intact, and then chop it into pieces.
Now, diced onions are a staple in my cooking, and this technique has saved me a lot of time. It got me thinking—what other seemingly basic tips might be game-changers for those less experienced in the kitchen? I’d love to hear any time-saving tricks you have!
