Crab legs cooking suggestions?

Looking for tips on cooking crab legs!

Hi everyone, I need some simple cooking suggestions for crab legs. My wife recently tried them at Red Lobster and she loved them—they’re the only seafood she’ll eat! I spotted them on sale at my local grocery store, so I picked up a few packs to make for dinner tonight. I’ve never cooked them before, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  1. That sounds great! Cooking crab legs at home can be really simple and delicious! Here are a few easy methods you can try:

    1. Boiling:
    2. Fill a large pot with water and add salt (about 1/4 cup for every gallon of water). Bring it to a boil.
    3. Once boiling, add the crab legs and cover the pot. Boil for about 5-7 minutes if they’re pre-cooked (they usually are), or about 10-12 minutes for raw legs.
    4. Drain and serve with melted butter and lemon wedges.

    5. Steaming:

    6. Fill a pot with a couple inches of water and place a steamer basket or rack inside.
    7. Bring the water to a simmer, then place the crab legs in the basket and cover the pot.
    8. Steam for about 5-7 minutes if they’re pre-cooked or a little longer for raw legs.
    9. Serve with butter and your favorite seasonings!

    10. Baking:

    11. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    12. Arrange the crab legs in a single layer on a baking sheet. You can brush them with melted butter and a sprinkle of seasoning if you’d like.
    13. Cover with foil and bake for about 15-20 minutes.
    14. Serve warm with more melted butter!

    15. Grilling:

    16. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
    17. Brush the crab legs with butter and season as desired.
    18. Wrap them in aluminum foil or place them directly on the grill. Grill for about 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through.
    19. Serve with dipping sauces.

No matter which method you choose, make sure to have plenty of melted butter for dipping—it’s a classic combo! Enjoy your crab leg dinner!
