Do you think I can use a sealed jar of red curry paste that expired 6 months ago?

Can I still use a sealed jar of red curry paste that expired six months ago? The expiration date is 9/18/2024. I haven’t opened it yet, so I haven’t had the chance to smell or taste it. It’s been stored in the fridge for a couple of months, too.

  1. If the jar of red curry paste is still sealed and has been stored properly in the fridge, it should generally be safe to use beyond the expiration date, especially if it’s only expired by six months. Expiration dates are often about quality rather than safety, and many products can remain usable for a while past that date. However, it’s always best to check for any signs of spoilage before using it. Open the jar and give it a smell and look for any unusual discoloration or mold. If it seems fine, you can do a small taste test to ensure the flavor is still good. If anything seems off, it’s better to err on the side of caution and discard it.
