Finally able to peel eggs again

Egg-peeling success at last!

For decades, I’ve been making hard boiled eggs using my tried-and-true method: lowering them into boiling water, simmering for 13-14 minutes, and finishing with an ice bath. The results were always perfect and the shells came off easily.

But after moving last year, my reliable gas stove was swapped for an electric range. I stuck to my usual method, only to find that the eggs became impossibly difficult to peel. I tried various boiling techniques, but nothing worked, which was incredibly frustrating since I boil 10 eggs every week.

Finally, I decided to seek some advice from a chatbot, and it confidently suggested I try steaming the eggs instead:

• Boil an inch of water in a pot
• Place the eggs in a steamer basket
• Cover and steam for 13 minutes
• Ice bath

I gave it a shot, and to my delight, those eggs peeled like a dream—every single one! Plus, the process was quicker since the water heated up faster.

Looks like this old dog has learned some new tricks!
