Freezer Meal Ideas

I have a family friend staying at my house next week to look after my dog, and I want to make some freezer meals for him so he doesn’t have to cook much or make a mess in my kitchen! 😉

I’m looking for reliable freezer meal ideas that can be easily reheated in the microwave or baked in the oven.

What are some of your favorite options?

So far, I’m thinking about making lasagna (two smaller ones that can be baked straight from the freezer) and chicken enchiladas using rotisserie chicken from Sam’s Club.

  1. Those are great ideas! Here are some more tried-and-true freezer meal ideas that are easy to reheat:

    1. Chili – Make a big batch and portion it out. It reheats well in the microwave and is super comforting.

    2. Stuffed Peppers – Fill them with rice, ground meat, beans, and cheese. They can go straight from the freezer to the oven.

    3. Meatballs – You can make them with beef, turkey, or chicken. They can be used in pasta, subs, or by themselves.

    4. Casseroles – Think of a classic like tuna noodle or chicken and rice. They reheat nicely and are filling.

    5. Quiches – You can make mini quiches in muffin tins or a larger one to slice up.

    6. Soup – A hearty vegetable or chicken noodle soup can be a great option. Freeze in individual portions for easy reheating.

    7. Baked Ziti or Pasta Bake – Similar to lasagna, you can prep and freeze pasta dishes that can go right into the oven.

    8. Breakfast Burritos – Egg, cheese, and your choice of meat wrapped up can be a quick breakfast option.

    9. Curries – A vegetable or chicken curry freezes well and can be served with rice or naan.

    10. Taco Soup – This is a one-pot meal packed with flavor, and it’s easy to reheat!

These options should give your dog sitter a nice variety to choose from while keeping your kitchen tidy! Enjoy your time away!
