Got this rotating ornamental serving set from my FIL, what could I serve in it?

I received this lovely rotating ornamental serving set from my father-in-law! He discovered it at a charity shop and knows how much I enjoy a good deal and hosting gatherings. I’m looking for ideas on what to serve in it. The dishes are medium-sized—not too big and not too small. I’ve included an apple for scale. I’d love to hear your suggestions! The more, the merrier!

  1. What a wonderful find! That ornamental serving set sounds perfect for entertaining! Here are some fun ideas for what to serve:

    1. Dips: Create a trio of dips—like hummus, guacamole, and a yogurt-based tzatziki. You can pair them with pita triangles, veggie sticks, or crackers on the side.

    2. Cheese and Charcuterie: Offer small portions of different cheeses, cured meats, olives, and nuts. You can also add some fruit like grapes or figs for a nice balance.

    3. Mini Desserts: Serve bite-sized treats like mini cupcakes, macarons, or petit fours. They’ll look beautiful and are perfect for guests to sample.

    4. Salsa and Chips: Have a small bowl of fresh salsa, guacamole, or pico de gallo accompanied by tortilla chips.

    5. Nuts and Snack Mix: Fill the dishes with various kinds of seasoned nuts or a homemade snack mix for a casual gathering.

    6. Fruit Medley: Serve a variety of fresh fruits cut into small pieces. You could also offer a fruit dip on the side!

    7. Savory Bites: Prepare small savory pastries like spanakopita or mini quiches. They’re delicious and easy to grab.

    8. Pickles and Antipasto: Include a selection of pickles, marinated vegetables, and antipasto items like artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers.

    9. Themed Tapas: Create a tapas-inspired spread with small bites like patatas bravas, stuffed peppers, and calamari.

    10. Bruschetta Toppings: Offer a couple of different bruschetta toppings (like tomatoes and basil, or mushroom and thyme) for guests to top their own toasted bread.

These ideas will not only look great in your ornamental serving set but also give your guests a variety of flavors to enjoy. Happy entertaining!
