I’m out of ideas, need suggestions for recipes-

I’m running out of ideas and could really use some recipe suggestions! I tried posting in the Eat Cheap and Healthy group, but it seems my account isn’t old enough to share there, so I’m reaching out here instead.

My local food bank has been really generous, but during my recent visits, they had a surplus of canned tomatoes, cream corn, Top Ramen, and Mac and Cheese.

Right now, I have 15 cans of tomatoes, 10 cans of cream corn, 20 boxes of the powdered Mac and Cheese (the type that requires milk and butter), and 25 packages of Top Ramen.

I’ve already made a ton of dishes, like chicken chili, stir-fries, and variations of hamburger Mac and Cheese, including hot dogs mixed in, as well as several kinds of casseroles with cream corn. I’ve also tried baked Mac and Cheese, cream corn pudding, cornbread with cream corn sauce, and even cream corn chowder. I’ve used canned tomatoes in a lot of dishes too.

What new recipes can I create with cream corn, canned tomatoes, Top Ramen, and Mac and Cheese that I haven’t thought of yet? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

  1. It sounds like you’ve been super creative with the ingredients you have! Here are a few more ideas you might consider trying:

    1. Ramen Carbonara: Cook the ramen and toss it with a mix of cooked bacon (or any other meat you have) and an egg (or egg substitute) to create a creamy (but not too traditional) carbonara. Use some grated cheese from your mac and cheese packets for extra flavor.

    2. Tomato and Cream Corn Soup: Blend canned tomatoes and cream corn together with some seasonings (like garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper). Heat it up and serve it as a creamy soup. Add some cooked ramen for texture.

    3. Ramen Stir-Fry: Prepare your top ramen without the seasoning packet and stir-fry it with some veggies (if you have any) and canned tomatoes. Top with soy sauce or any sauce you like.

    4. Mac and Cheese Casserole: Mix cooked mac and cheese with cream corn and any leftover proteins (like chicken or tuna). Bake until bubbly for a hearty casserole.

    5. Creamy Tomato Ramen: Prepare ramen noodles and mix them with a sauce made from canned tomatoes, cream corn, and some seasonings. Heat until combined and enjoy as a creamy pasta dish.

    6. Stuffed Peppers: If you have bell peppers (or any other vegetables), mix cooked rice (or mac and cheese) with canned tomatoes and cream corn, stuff the mixture into halved peppers, and bake until tender.

    7. Casserole with Ramen and Cheese: Break uncooked ramen and mix it with mac and cheese prepared as per the package instructions and add some canned tomatoes for moisture. Top with cheese and bake until golden.

    8. Corn and Tomato Fritters: Mix cream corn with a bit of flour, seasonings, and any leftover protein. Form into patties and pan-fry until golden brown. You can serve them as a side dish.

I hope these ideas inspire some new meals for you! Enjoy cooking!
