Is my corn spoiled? I boiled the corn on the cob directly over heat without wrapping it. I might have cooked it a bit too long, and now I’m noticing some brown spots. Are these bad?

Brown spots on boiled corn can be concerning, but they aren’t always a sign that the corn is bad. If the spots are just discoloration and the kernels are firm and plump, it’s likely still safe to eat. However, if the corn has an off smell, unusual texture, or if the spots are accompanied by mold, it’s better to err on the side of caution and discard it. If you’re unsure, it’s always best to trust your instincts!
