Crock Pot Jambalaya, anyone?
Every year, I throw a Mardi Gras celebration where I whip up jambalaya, red beans and rice, and a crawfish boil. I usually make a traditional jambalaya with andouille sausage and chicken, plus a smaller vegetarian version for my friends.
I’m wondering if I can make the meat jambalaya in a crock pot? It would be a huge help for party prep since I wouldn’t have to juggle multiple pots on the stove. Plus, keeping it warm in the slow cooker during the party sounds perfect. However, I’ve heard mixed things about cooking rice in a crock pot and I’m a bit concerned about it turning out burnt. I also know that trying out new recipes on a holiday isn’t always the best idea, haha!
So, has anyone tried making jambalaya or rice in a crock pot? How did it turn out? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
