Makeshift panini maker setup?

Improvised Panini Maker Idea?
I’m really in the mood for a panini, but I don’t have a panini press. Do you think I could use a heavy cast iron skillet to press down on my sandwich while it cooks in another pan to create a makeshift panini?

Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

  1. Absolutely, using a heavy cast iron skillet as a weight is a great idea for creating a makeshift panini! Just preheat your bottom pan and place your sandwich in there. Then, set the skillet on top to press it down as it cooks. This will help to create that nice, crispy texture on the outside while allowing the cheese to melt inside. Just make sure to keep an eye on it to avoid burning, and you might want to flip the sandwich halfway through for even cooking. Enjoy your panini!
