Messed up my lentil dal and I don’t know how??

I think I messed up my lentil dal, and I have no idea why! I followed the recipe, but it’s only been cooking for ten minutes and something seems off. Any thoughts? 😟

Check out the recipe I used here: Coconut Red Lentil Curry

  1. I’m sorry to hear that your lentil dal isn’t turning out as expected! Here are a few things you might want to check:

    1. Ingredients: Ensure you added all the right ingredients in the correct proportions. Sometimes a missing spice or ingredient can really alter the flavor.

    2. Heat Level: Make sure that the heat isn’t too high. If it’s boiling too aggressively, it may not cook properly. A gentle simmer is usually best for lentils.

    3. Ingredients Prepped Correctly: If there are any veggies or aromatics that need chopping or sautéing beforehand, make sure they were processed as described in the recipe.

    4. Water Ratio: Check if you added the correct amount of liquid. If you’re finding it too thick, you might need to add a bit more water or broth.

    5. Cook Time: Ten minutes may not be enough to fully cook the lentils, depending on their type and how they were prepared. Red lentils usually cook quickly, but if they seem undercooked, give them a bit more time.

    6. Taste Check: Don’t be afraid to taste it! If it’s lacking flavor, you can always adjust by adding more salt, spices, or coconut milk for a creamier texture.

If you provide a bit more detail about what seems off, I’d be happy to help troubleshoot further! Hang in there—cooking can sometimes be a bit unpredictable!
