Pampered Chef Micro Cooker mess

Pampered Chef Micro Cooker Woes

I purchased the Pampered Chef Micro Cooker but never use it because it creates such a mess in my microwave. I’ve tried the standard 2:1 water to rice ratio and even looked up different instructions, but every time I end up with a puddle in the microwave and undercooked rice. Is this a common issue, or am I missing something?

  1. It sounds like you’re having a frustrating experience with the Micro Cooker! It’s definitely not uncommon for some products to require a bit of a learning curve, especially when it comes to cooking times and liquid ratios. Here are a few tips you might try:

    1. Check the Lid: Make sure the lid is properly sealed and that you’re using it as directed. If steam can escape, it might lead to spills.

    2. Adjust the Ratio: While the 2:1 ratio is standard for cooking rice, sometimes microwave models vary in power. You could try reducing the water slightly or experimenting with different cook times.

    3. Use Lower Power: If you’re microwaving at full power, try cooking at a lower power setting for a longer time. This can help prevent boiling over.

    4. Cover with a Microwave-Safe Plate: To contain any spills, you might place a microwave-safe plate underneath the Micro Cooker while cooking until you get the hang of it.

    5. Test Batch: Consider doing smaller test batches of rice with the adjustments until you find the right combination for your microwave.

Hopefully, one of these suggestions helps you get better results! Don’t give up; once you find the right combination, it can definitely be a time-saver.
