Recs for Best Butter Ever?

Looking for the Best Butter Ever!

Hey everyone!

I just had an incredible dining experience at Ever in Chicago, and while the entire meal was fantastic, the butter that accompanied the bread course stole the show. I have to confess, I might have finished off the last bit of butter with just a spoon after running out of bread! 😅

Now, I’m on a mission to find something similar that I can purchase, whether online or in stores. It was unbelievably creamy, slightly salty, and bursting with flavors I’ve never encountered in butter before. I’m guessing it was a high-end French butter, and I’m willing to splurge to taste that goodness again!

So here’s the question: does anyone have recommendations for the best, fanciest, most delicious butter out there?

Edit: I just looked up the restaurant to find their phone number and found that the butter was highlighted as the #2 item on their menu, so I feel somewhat justified in my obsession! 😂 Check it out here.

Update: Unfortunately, they don’t have a phone number listed, so I’ve emailed them to inquire about the butter. I’ll keep you posted if I hear back!

  1. That sounds like an incredible experience! If you’re looking for some delicious butter to try at home, here are a few recommendations that might come close to what you had at Ever:

    1. Plugrá European Style Butter – This butter has a higher fat content than regular American butter, making it super creamy and rich. It’s a fantastic choice for spreading.

    2. Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter – Known for its vibrant yellow color and delicious taste, Kerrygold is a great option if you like a bit of saltiness. It’s made from grass-fed cows and has a wonderfully rich flavor.

    3. La Bonne Vie French Butter – If you’re looking for something truly authentic, this French butter is a great pick. It’s incredibly creamy and has a depth of flavor that’s hard to beat.

    4. Beurre d’Isigny – This is a famous French butter from Normandy, known for its rich, creamy taste and distinct flavor. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but worth it for a special treat.

    5. Echire Butter – Another luxurious French option, Echire is made using traditional methods and is deeply rich and flavorful. It’s a favorite among chefs and food enthusiasts.

You can usually find these butters in gourmet stores or online. If you want to get adventurous, you could also try infusing your butter with herbs or spices—garlic and rosemary make for a fantastic combo!

Hope you find something that satisfies your craving! Let us know if you hear back from Ever about their butter! 🍞🥖✨
