Using Dried Chipotle Peppers
I recently bought some dried chipotle peppers on a whim, but now that I’m diving into recipes, I see that most call for jarred chipotles in adobo sauce or require a blend of various dried peppers that I can’t get my hands on right now. I know the roasting technique where you toast them in a pan before using them in cooking, but I’d love suggestions on how to make the most of dried chipotles without relying on other types of peppers or hard-to-find ingredients. I would especially appreciate vegetarian recipes, although I’m open to anything! They’ve been sitting in my pantry for a few weeks, and my initial enthusiasm is waning as I keep encountering recipes that demand more ingredients than I can access.
