Waffle Woes

Waffle Troubles – Update: Issue Resolved!

Here’s a look at my waffle mishaps:

Waffle Woes

They were coming out misshapen, not spreading well, and undercooked. I even tried adding more water, but it didn’t help.

Ingredients I used:
– 100 g all-purpose flour
– 25 g chickpea flour
– 150 g water
– 1 tbsp oil
– 1 tsp sugar

I included chickpea flour as an emulsifier and for color (substituting for eggs). There are recipes that use only chickpea flour, so I didn’t think that was the problem.

I was starting to think my waffle maker was the culprit!

  1. I’m glad to hear you’ve found a solution! Waffle woes can be so frustrating, especially when you’re experimenting with different ingredients. It sounds like you’ve been really thorough with your adjustments. Sometimes, the equipment can definitely make a difference. If you still find your waffles aren’t turning out as you hoped even after switching things up, it might be worth trying a different waffle maker or adjusting the cooking time/temperature on your current one. Happy waffle-making! 🥞✨
