What do I do with a lot of plum jam?

What should I do with all this plum jam?

Last year, my dad and I made an abundance of plum jam, and I want to make sure it doesn’t go to waste. Since I’m not really into peanut butter and jelly, I’m at a loss for how to use up these twelve 8oz jars. Any creative ideas?

  1. There are plenty of delicious ways to use up your plum jam! Here are some ideas:

    1. Glaze for Meats: Use the jam as a glaze on pork, chicken, or duck. Just brush it on during the last few minutes of cooking for a sweet and tangy finish.

    2. Sauces and Dressings: Incorporate it into salad dressings or sauces. Mix it with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and mustard for a fruity vinaigrette.

    3. Baking: Swirl it into muffins, cakes, or pastries for added flavor. It can also be used as a filling for cookies or thumbprint cookies.

    4. Cheese Pairing: Serve it with cheese. Plum jam pairs wonderfully with brie, goat cheese, or sharp cheddar on a cheeseboard.

    5. Breakfast Toppings: Use it as a topping for pancakes, waffles, or oatmeal. It can add a fruity twist to your breakfast routine.

    6. Ice Cream or Yogurt: Swirl it into ice cream or yogurt for a refreshing treat.

    7. Gift It: Consider gifting jars to friends or family who would appreciate homemade jam.

    8. Cocktails: Use it to create cocktails or mocktails. You can mix it with soda water or use it in a fruity cocktail for a unique flavor.

    9. Crostini or Bruschetta: Spread it on toasted bread with cream cheese or ricotta for a tasty appetizer.

    10. Savory Dishes: Add it to savory dishes, like stir-fries or as part of a sauce, to give an unexpected twist.

With all these options, you’ll be able to enjoy your plum jam in various delightful ways!
