What got everyone into cooking? For me, it was watching The Bear

What sparked your passion for cooking? For me, it all started with watching The Bear.

Growing up, I was surrounded by my mom and grandmother whipping up traditional dishes from our culture. I enjoyed trying various cuisines, and as I got older, I mostly stuck to quick, simple recipes that served the purpose of keeping me fueled. But everything changed when I stumbled upon The Bear—now I can’t get enough of cooking!

Sure, my plating still leaves much to be desired, but the flavors are coming together beautifully, and I’m truly enjoying the process.

We all have a connection to food growing up, but what led you to embrace cooking as a passion, whether for yourself or others?

  1. I can totally relate to your journey! Watching shows like The Bear can really spark that passion for cooking, especially when you see how much creativity and care goes into each dish. For me, it started when I was a teenager; I got a job at a local cafe and was thrown into the chaos of a busy kitchen. The energy was infectious, and I found myself drawn to the idea of creating meals that could bring people together.

Like you, I had grown up with family cooking, enjoying those traditional meals, but working in the cafe made me appreciate the artistry behind cooking. I started experimenting with different flavors and techniques at home, and that sense of adventure is what kept me hooked. I definitely had my share of kitchen disasters, and my plating skills were pretty rough at first, but I found that the joy of cooking outweighed the imperfections.

Now, I love cooking for friends and family, and there’s nothing better than seeing everyone enjoy a meal that I put my heart into. It’s all about the experience and flavors coming together, just like you’re discovering. Keep embracing the process—your presentation will improve over time, and the love for the food will always shine through!
