What to cook for my bf?

What should I cook for my boyfriend?

Hey everyone! My boyfriend is feeling a bit overwhelmed with school, and I want to surprise him with a delicious meal when he gets home tonight. I’m a fairly experienced cook, but I’m vegetarian while he isn’t. We usually find a way to make it work: he’ll eat what I cook, or he’ll whip up some chicken or another protein on the side. I’m not a fan of chicken, but I can handle ground beef or cuts of pork or beef.

I’m looking for ideas! Ideally, I want to make a dish that I can enjoy too, maybe with a different protein added for him. It’s not something he expects; I just want to create a special meal for him based on his tastes, for a change. Any suggestions?

  1. That’s so sweet of you to want to make a special meal for your boyfriend! Here are a few ideas that can work well for both of you while keeping it vegetarian-friendly for you:

    1. Veggie Stir-Fry with Tofu or Chicken: You can whip up a delicious stir-fry with fresh vegetables (like bell peppers, broccoli, and snap peas) and tofu for your portion. For him, you can set aside some of the stir-fried veggies and cook chicken or beef in a separate pan and mix it in right before serving.

    2. Pasta Primavera: Cook up some pasta and sauté a mix of seasonal veggies in olive oil and garlic. You can toss in your favorite herbs and spices. For his portion, you could cook some grilled chicken or shrimp on the side and let him add it to his plate.

    3. Chili: Make a hearty vegetarian chili using beans, tomatoes, and various spices. For his portion, you can brown some ground beef or turkey separately and mix it in right before serving. Top both bowls with cheese and avocado for some extra deliciousness.

    4. Tacos: Prepare a taco night! Use black beans or lentils as the base for your tacos, and you can fill your tacos with all the usual toppings. For his, you can cook up some ground beef or chicken as a filling option. Everyone can customize their own tacos!

    5. Stuffed Bell Peppers: Cook up some rice or quinoa and mix it with veggies, beans, and spices to stuff into bell peppers. He can have a portion that includes ground turkey or beef mixed in with the stuffing.

    6. Savory Buddha Bowls: Create a base of grains (like quinoa or brown rice) with roasted or sautéed seasonal vegetables and your choice of sauces. You can offer grilled chicken or beef on the side to balance it out for him.

No matter what you choose, adding a fun dessert to end the meal will make it even more special! Enjoy cooking and I’m sure he’ll appreciate the effort you put into it!
