Tips for Adding Orzo to Tomato Soup?

I’m getting ready to make a tasty tomato soup for a family gathering and I’ve found a great recipe that doesn’t include orzo. However, I’m considering adding orzo for a heartier touch but I’m a bit concerned about it soaking up too much liquid.
Has anyone experimented with adding orzo to tomato soup? What modifications would you suggest to prevent the soup from becoming overly thick or drying out? Should I increase the liquid or maybe incorporate some broth to maintain the right consistency? I would love any suggestions or tips you might have!
