Seeking Cooking Improvement Tips

I grew up in a family that isn’t exactly known for its culinary skills. Our go-to meal has always been spaghetti and meatballs (I know, not the most adventurous), often served with a unique twist of cottage cheese and corn on top! This has been perfectly fine until I met my boyfriend over two years ago. He hails from a family of chefs who have run restaurants for years. His cooking skills are impressive—he can whip up a delicious meal just by glancing at the ingredients we have on hand, which is truly mind-boggling to me!

I’m looking for advice on how to improve my cooking abilities more quickly. Although I’ve been trying to cook more often, my attempts usually don’t turn out as planned. I always follow recipes, but I aspire to reach a level where I can cook intuitively, like he does. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
