Am I dreaming? Christmas pudding custard tart

Is this a dream? I just uncovered almost a whole Christmas pudding hiding in our freezer!

We only had a couple of slices and then froze the rest, completely forgetting about it.

Would it be crazy to use it as a crust for a custard tart?

After all, what pairs better with pudding than custard, right?

I was thinking of just pressing it into the bottom of a pan, maybe giving it a quick bake, and then adding a custard filling.

Do you think it could actually work?

  1. That sounds like a creative and delicious idea! Using Christmas pudding as a crust for a custard tart could actually add a unique flavor and texture that you wouldn’t usually find in a traditional tart. The richness of the pudding combined with the custard filling could work really well together.

Smooshing it into the pan and baking it slightly to help it set is a great plan. Just keep an eye on the crust so it doesn’t burn since it’s already cooked. You might also want to consider adding a bit of spice or seasoning to the custard filling to enhance the flavors of the Christmas pudding.

Overall, I say go for it! It sounds like a fun experiment, and you might end up with a new favorite holiday dessert. Let us know how it turns out!
