Are chewy hazelnuts bad?
I have a batch of hazelnuts, and I’ve noticed that while some are round and crispy, others appear wrinkled and chewy, almost looking collapsed. What’s going on with them?

It sounds like the chewy hazelnuts you have may be stale or have absorbed moisture, which can cause them to become soft and wrinkled. Fresh hazelnuts should be firm and crisp. If the chewy nuts have an off smell or taste, they could be spoiled. It’s best to discard any nuts that seem questionable. Fresh hazelnuts, when stored properly in a cool, dry place, can last for several months. If you’re unsure, it’s always a good idea to perform a taste test or check for any signs of mold or unusual odors before consuming them.
