Cook time for 2 cuts of corned beef in dutch oven?

What is the cook time for two cuts of corned beef in a Dutch oven?

I’m planning to cook two 3-pound pieces of corned beef simultaneously in my Dutch oven. Should I follow the cook time for 3 pounds? I’ll definitely monitor the temperature, but I want to make sure I time it properly. Thanks!

  1. When cooking two 3 lb pieces of corned beef together in a Dutch oven, you can generally use the cooking time for 3 lbs, as the combined weight won’t significantly affect the cooking time. A good rule of thumb is to cook it for about 2.5 to 3 hours at a simmer for a 3 lb piece.

Since you have two pieces, check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer after about 2.5 hours. You’re looking for a temperature of around 190°F to 200°F for the most tender corned beef. If the temperature hasn’t reached that, you can continue cooking, checking every 15-20 minutes until it’s done. Make sure to keep the meat covered for even cooking. Enjoy your meal!
