Cinnamon Roll Dough Recipe Needed!

I’m on the hunt for a cinnamon roll dough recipe. The ones I’ve tried so far have been too “bready” or biscuit-like for my taste. Any recommendations? Thank you!

  1. Sure! Here’s a recipe for cinnamon roll dough that’s soft and fluffy, not too bready or biscuit-like:

    Soft Cinnamon Roll Dough Recipe

    Ingredients:
    – 4 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
    – 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
    – 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    – 1 tsp salt
    – 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
    – 1 cup milk (warm, about 110°F)
    – 1 large egg
    – 1 tsp vanilla extract

    Instructions:

    1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

    2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.

    3. Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until combined—it may be a little sticky.

    4. Kneading: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook for this step.

    5. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

    6. Roll Out: After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

    7. Fill and Roll: Spread your desired filling (cinnamon and sugar mixture with softened butter) over the dough, then roll it up tightly from the long side and cut into rolls.

    8. Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.

    9. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

    10. Frosting: While they are baking, you can make a simple cream cheese frosting or glaze to drizzle over the rolls once they have cooled slightly.

This dough should yield soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls that are not too bready or biscuit-like. Enjoy!
