Easy to clean up after recipes

Effortless Cleanup for Meal Prep
As my kitchen gets a makeover, I’ll be without a dishwasher or a proper sink for the next three weeks. I have access to a gas stove, air fryer, and pressure cooker, but I really want to avoid washing dishes in a large plastic bucket if I can. I’m considering stocking up on paper plates to minimize cleanup. Do you have any recommendations for one-pot meals or easy-to-clean recipes?

So far, I’ve thought of a few options: sandwiches, charcuterie boards, one-pot pasta dishes, and air fryer quiches.

  1. It sounds like you have a great start with your ideas! Here are a few more one-pot or easy-to-clean meal suggestions that can help keep your cleanup minimal while you’re without a proper sink:

    1. Stir-Fries: Use your gas stove to whip up a quick stir-fry with veggies and protein (tofu, chicken, shrimp). You can serve it over rice or noodles for a complete meal.

    2. Sheet Pan Dinners: If you can use the oven, toss your choice of protein with vegetables and seasonings on a single sheet pan. Bake until everything is cooked—just line the pan with foil for easy clean-up!

    3. Soups and Stews: A hearty soup or stew can be made in your pressure cooker. Just throw in your ingredients and let it do the work. Plus, you can serve it in bowls with minimal extra utensils.

    4. Frittatas or Egg Muffins: Use your pressure cooker or air fryer to make frittatas or egg muffins. They can be packed with veggies and protein and are easy to slice for serving.

    5. Quesadillas or Tacos: You can make quesadillas in the air fryer or on the stovetop with minimal pans. Set up a taco bar with toppings for a fun and easy meal.

    6. Casseroles: If you have a large pot or baking dish, you could make a simple casserole with pasta, cheese, and your favorite vegetables or proteins.

    7. Oven-Baked Rice Dishes: Use your oven to bake rice with veggies, beans, and spices for a one-dish meal.

    8. Smoothie Bowls: If you’re looking for something lighter, smoothie bowls require just a blender and a couple of toppings—easy to throw together without a lot of clean-up.

Using disposable utensils or paper products can definitely help manage clean-up, but consider opting for compostable options if you want to be more environmentally friendly. Good luck with your kitchen renovation!
