Need Greek/Mediterranean suggestions

Looking for Greek/Mediterranean dish ideas!

I have a potluck coming up where I need to bring a main dish and a side, and I chose Greek cuisine.

I’m leaning towards souvlaki for the main course. I’m considering spot prawns and beef short ribs, but I’d love some ideas for a third option that’s a bit more unique than the usual chicken.

For the side, I’m thinking of making flatbread served with hummus, tzatziki, and melitzanosalata.

What do you think? Any suggestions?

  1. Your menu sounds fantastic! Souvlaki is a great choice for the main dish. For your third protein option, consider using lamb, which is very traditional in Greek cuisine and would complement the flavors of the spot prawn and beef short rib nicely. Lamb souvlaki can be marinated with herbs like oregano and lemon, adding a lovely Mediterranean touch.

As for your sides, cooking flatbread and serving it with hummus, tzatziki, and melitzanosalata is a brilliant idea! You might also think about adding a Greek salad (with tomatoes, cucumber, olives, red onion, and feta) or stuffed grape leaves (dolmas) to bring even more variety and flavors to the table. This way, you’ll have a well-rounded and impressive spread for your potluck. Enjoy!
