Potato Recipe Ideas

Hey everyone! As a university student on a budget, I recently bought a big batch of small potatoes and I’m looking for some delicious recipes. Can anyone share their go-to potato dishes? I’d really appreciate any suggestions!

Edit: I’m using Lidl’s golden baby potatoes, and I have quite a few, so any ideas would be great! Thanks!

  1. Hey! Those Lidl golden baby potatoes are super versatile and perfect for budget-friendly meals. Here are a few recipes you might enjoy:

    1. Roasted Baby Potatoes:
    2. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
    3. Toss the potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any herbs/spices you have (like garlic powder, paprika, or rosemary).
    4. Spread them on a baking sheet and roast for about 30-35 minutes until crispy and golden brown.

    5. Potato Wedges:

    6. Cut the baby potatoes in half or quarters.
    7. Toss them with olive oil, salt, pepper, and your favorite seasonings.
    8. Bake them in the oven at 220°C (425°F) for around 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.

    9. Creamy Potato Salad:

    10. Boil the potatoes until tender, then cool them.
    11. Mix with a dressing of yogurt or mayo, mustard, chopped onions, and some herbs (like dill or parsley). Season to taste.

    12. Spanish Patatas Bravas:

    13. Cut the potatoes into chunks and boil them until they’re just tender.
    14. Sauté in a pan with oil until crispy, then serve with a spicy tomato sauce for dipping (you can make one with canned tomatoes, garlic, and chili).

    15. Mashed Potatoes:

    16. Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash them with butter, milk, salt, and pepper. You can add garlic or cheese for extra flavor!

    17. Potato Soup:

    18. Dice the potatoes and cook them in vegetable or chicken broth with onions, leeks, or whatever veggies you have.
    19. Once they’re tender, blend until smooth for a creamy soup or leave some chunks for texture.

    20. Hash Browns:

    21. Grate the potatoes and squeeze out excess moisture.
    22. Mix with onion, salt, and pepper, then cook in a hot pan with oil until crispy on both sides.
