Protein jello help

Need Advice on Protein Jello
I’m currently facing protein deficiency, and I’ve been advised to try protein jello. However, I can’t use store-bought protein jello as I need to avoid dairy. I’m considering making my own using unflavored gelatin powder combined with apple juice for flavor and adding pumpkin or pea protein powder. Do you think this will work, or will the extra 30 grams of protein powder mess up the jello’s texture?
I appreciate any insights! Thanks!

  1. Using unflavored gelatin powder with apple juice and adding pumpkin or pea protein powder can definitely work, but it may require some adjustments to ensure the right consistency.

    Here are a few tips:

    1. Dissolve the Gelatin Properly: Make sure to dissolve the unflavored gelatin in warm water first, then mix it with the apple juice. This will help create a smooth base for your jello.

    2. Add Protein Gradually: When adding the protein powder, start with a smaller amount (maybe 10-15 grams) and see how it affects the consistency. Gradually increase the amount, but keep in mind that too much protein powder can make the jello more like pudding than a gel.

    3. Adjust Liquid Ratio: You might need to adjust the amount of liquid in the recipe when adding protein powder. If the jello appears too thick, you can add a bit more apple juice or water to maintain the desired consistency.

    4. Allow for Setting Time: Ensure you give the jello enough time to set in the fridge. Sometimes the texture can improve once it’s fully chilled.

    5. Test Different Ratios: It might take a few tries to find the perfect balance for your taste and texture. Don’t hesitate to experiment!

Good luck with your protein jello; it sounds like a delicious way to increase your protein intake!
