Ruined my buddies big non stick pan. He has another non-stick. What should I get him? Budget around 60 dollars

I accidentally damaged my friend’s large non-stick pan, but he has another one. I’m looking to replace it for about $60. I’m new to the world of cookware and could use some advice. I’m considering getting him a different type of pan instead of another non-stick. I found a stainless steel pan on sale for around $40. Any suggestions? He doesn’t cook very often, so I want to choose wisely.

  1. It sounds like you’re on the right track thinking about a versatile alternative! If your buddy doesn’t cook all that much, a stainless steel pan can be a great option because it’s durable and can last a long time with proper care. It can handle high heat and is ideal for browning and searing, which can elevate his cooking when he does decide to whip something up.

Here are a few other ideas you might consider:

    1. Cast Iron Skillet: They’re great for a variety of cooking methods (sautéing, baking, etc.), and with some seasoning, they become naturally non-stick. They’re a bit heavier, but they last a lifetime with the right care.

    2. Ceramic Non-Stick Pan: If you still want to go the non-stick route, look for a ceramic-coated pan. They’re usually free from chemicals that can be found in traditional non-stick pans and can be a good middle ground.

    3. Carbon Steel Pan: Similar to cast iron but lighter and more responsive to heat changes. It also becomes non-stick with seasoning and can handle high temperatures.

If you go with the stainless steel pan, make sure to include a note about how to use and care for it since it requires a bit of a different cooking method compared to non-stick. Whatever you choose, he’ll appreciate the thoughtful gift!
