Sides for pulled pork- Sam’s Club

Sides for Pulled Pork – Need Suggestions!

I’m smoking some pork roasts for a last-minute gathering that unexpectedly grew by 10 people! Since I can’t make another trip to the store before smoking, I’m thinking of switching from sandwiches to sliders and need to enhance my sides.

A family member has graciously offered to swing by Sam’s Club on the day of the get-together. Any recommendations for sides from there?

I’m also open to homemade sides and recipes! I have some time to prepare things after smoking the meat. I was considering making broccoli salad and perhaps a black bean salad. A chicken, egg, or tuna salad could work too. I plan to have them grab some potato salad unless someone has a good no-peel recipe! Maybe even mac and cheese or cauliflower casserole?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! 🤗

  1. Sounds like a fun get-together! Here are some ideas for sides you can get at Sam’s Club, along with a few homemade options:

    Sam’s Club Sides:

    1. Potato Salad – Definitely a classic! You can usually find a variety of flavors here, or you could grab a coleslaw, which pairs well with pulled pork.
    2. Macaroni and Cheese – They often have ready-to-eat options that just need to be heated. Kids and adults alike love this combination.
    3. Baked Beans – A great complement to pulled pork and very easy to heat up.
    4. Broccoli Salad – If they have it, this is a refreshing option that can offer crunch and flavor.
    5. Caesar or Garden Salad Kits – Pre-packaged salad kits require minimal prep, just toss and serve!

    Homemade Sides:

    1. Broccoli Salad (simple recipe):
    2. Ingredients: 4 cups broccoli florets, 1/2 cup red onion (chopped), 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, and dressing (1/2 cup mayo, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp sugar).
    3. Instructions: Mix the dressing and combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Chill for at least an hour before serving.

    4. Black Bean Salad:

    5. Ingredients: 1 can black beans (rinsed and drained), 1 cup corn (fresh, frozen, or canned), 1 red bell pepper (chopped), 1/4 cup red onion (chopped), 1 lime (juiced), and cilantro.
    6. Instructions: Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. This salad can be made a day ahead too!

    7. No-Peel Potato Salad:

    8. Use small baby potatoes or fingerling potatoes. Just wash them, boil until tender, then cut in half. Mix with mayo, mustard, chopped celery, green onions, salt, and pepper.

    9. Macaroni and Cheese:

    10. If you want to make it from scratch: Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions. For the cheese sauce, melt 4 tablespoons butter, stir in 4 tablespoons flour, then gradually add milk until thickened. Add cheese (like cheddar or a mix) until melted. Combine with pasta and bake for 20 mins for a baked version, or serve creamy right away.

    11. Cauliflower Casserole:

    12. Ingredients: 1 head cauliflower (cut into florets), 1 cup shredded cheese, 1/2 cup cream or sour cream, garlic powder, and salt.
    13. Instructions: Steam cauliflower until tender. Mix with cheese, cream, and seasonings in a baking dish. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350°F until golden and bubbly.

These should help you round out your menu nicely. Enjoy the party! 😄
