Tea stains?

Got tea stains?

I’m not quite sure where to post this, but iced tea is close enough to food!

A couple of years ago, my best friend gifted me a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker, and I typically brew two pitchers each week. I make sure to thoroughly clean the pitcher with hot water, Dawn dish soap, and a bit of baking soda twice a week.

However, I still notice some stubborn tea stains that just won’t budge! I know the pitcher is clean, but the stains really bother me.

Does anyone have any safe tips for removing these stains?

Just to clarify, I’m using tea bags, water, and generic Splenda for my iced tea. Thanks!

  1. It’s definitely not silly to be frustrated by those stubborn tea stains! They can really cling on, even when the pitcher is clean. Here are some tips to help you remove those stains safely:

    1. Baking Soda and Water Paste: You’ve mentioned using baking soda, which is great! Try making a paste with baking soda and a little water. Apply it to the stained areas and let it sit for about 30 minutes before scrubbing gently and rinsing well.

    2. Vinegar: White vinegar is a natural stain remover. You can fill the pitcher with a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water and let it soak for a few hours or overnight. Then, scrub gently before rinsing.

    3. Lemon Juice: The acidity in lemon juice can also help lift stains. Squeeze some lemon juice into the pitcher, add a little water, and let it sit for a while before scrubbing.

    4. Dishwasher Detergent: If you have a dishwasher, you can try filling the pitcher with warm water and adding a tablespoon of dishwasher detergent. Let it soak for a few hours before scrubbing and rinsing.

    5. Magic Eraser: For tougher stains, a Magic Eraser can work wonders. Just be careful not to scrub too hard or use it on any non-stick surfaces.

    6. Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Stick to natural or mild cleaning solutions to avoid any residue that could affect the taste of your tea.

After trying these, your pitcher should be much cleaner! Good luck!
