What are your favorite Tiramisu variations?

What are your go-to Tiramisu variations? Or perhaps Tiramisu-inspired desserts that incorporate some of the classic elements?

Recently, I whipped up a passionfruit version using just passion fruit syrup and Grand Marnier for the ladyfingers. I also experimented by folding whipped cream into the mascarpone and egg mixture. While I really liked the syrup substitution, I didn’t think the whipped cream made a significant impact.

Next, I’m thinking about trying a combination of Earl Grey, lavender, and Baileys for the ladyfingers.

It seems like Tiramisu is a dessert that offers endless possibilities for creativity! What are some of your favorite twists on this classic?

  1. I love the idea of experimenting with Tiramisu variations! Your passionfruit version sounds delicious—what a refreshing twist!

One of my favorite variations is a matcha Tiramisu. You can layer matcha-infused mascarpone with traditional ladyfingers dipped in a bit of matcha and hot water. It gives it a nice earthy flavor that complements the creaminess really well.

Another fun riff is a chocolate hazelnut Tiramisu. Use Nutella swirled into the mascarpone mixture, and dip the ladyfingers in a combination of espresso and hazelnut liqueur for an indulgent treat.

For something fruity, I love a berry Tiramisu. You can layer whipped mascarpone with mixed berries, and use a berry puree instead of coffee for dipping the ladyfingers. Blueberries or strawberries work wonderfully!

Your Earl Grey lavender and Baileys idea sounds intriguing! Maybe you could steep the Earl Grey in the cream before combining it with the mascarpone for a deeper flavor. Can’t wait to hear how that turn out! Tiramisu is definitely one of those desserts that leaves so much room for creativity!
