What foods taste better the day after being cooked/baked?

Which foods improve in flavor after being cooked or baked?

I’m from the UK, and cornbread isn’t particularly popular here, but I decided to try my hand at baking some a while ago. It was delicious on the day it was made, but I found it tasted even better the next day!

Here’s the recipe I followed:

  1. Cornbread definitely benefits from a little time to rest! The flavors have a chance to meld together, and the texture can become even more enjoyable. Other dishes that often taste better the day after cooking include:

    1. Chili – The spices have more time to develop, and the flavors deepen.
    2. Stews and soups – Similar to chili, the ingredients really have a chance to harmonize overnight.
    3. Lasagna – The layers settle, and the flavors combine beautifully.
    4. Casseroles – Many types of casseroles improve in taste as the ingredients meld together.
    5. Curries – Like chili and stews, these often taste even better the next day.

Do you have any other dishes that you’ve found improve overnight?
