What to do with an enormous amount of shredded cheese

How to Use Up a Mountain of Shredded Cheese

Hey there! I recently purchased a 5lb bag of Mexican blend cheese, thinking I’d find plenty of uses for it, but now I’m out of ideas! I’d love your suggestions on what to cook with all this cheese.

Quick note: I can’t freeze it since my freezer space is limited, despite having three freezers! 😭

  1. Wow, that’s a lot of cheese! Here are some delicious ideas to help you use up that 5 lbs of shredded Mexican blend cheese:

    1. Quesadillas: Make a variety of quesadillas using different fillings like beans, veggies, chicken, or even just cheese. You can also add spices for some extra flavor.

    2. Cheesy Enchiladas: Fill corn tortillas with beans, meat, or veggies, and top them with shredded cheese and enchilada sauce before baking.

    3. Nachos: Layer chips with cheese, jalapeños, black beans, and any other toppings you like. Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

    4. Mac and Cheese: Make a big batch of mac and cheese and use plenty of cheese to make it rich and creamy.

    5. Cheesy Mexican Rice: Stir shredded cheese into cooked Mexican rice or a rice casserole for some extra flavor.

    6. Stuffed Peppers: Fill bell peppers with a mixture of rice, beans, meat, and lots of cheese, then bake until the peppers are tender.

    7. Cheesy Omelets or Scrambles: Add cheese to your eggs when making omelets or scrambles. It’s perfect for breakfast!

    8. Pizza: Make homemade pizzas and top them generously with cheese. You can also try cheesy breadsticks!

    9. Cheesy Soup or Chili: Blend cheese into your favorite soup or chili recipe for an added creaminess.

    10. Cheese Dip: Make a cheesy dip with melted cheese, cream cheese, and spices for serving with chips or vegetables.

    11. Casseroles: Incorporate shredded cheese into casseroles, whether it’s a taco casserole, or a cheesy vegetable bake.

    12. Garlic Cheese Bread: Mix cheese with garlic butter and spread it over bread before toasting it in the oven.

Get creative, and you can freeze leftovers if you have space for them later! Enjoy the cheesy goodness!
