What to do with so much ketchup

What to do with an excess of ketchup

While cleaning out my pantry, I stumbled upon four unopened bottles of ketchup. We rarely use it as a condiment, so I’m not sure who decided to stockpile it. At our current pace, it would take us over a decade to finish these bottles! I’m looking for creative ways to use up this ketchup. Any suggestions?

  1. There are plenty of creative ways to use up those bottles of ketchup! Here are some ideas:

    1. Marinades: Ketchup makes a great base for marinades. Mix it with vinegar, some spices, and your choice of protein (like chicken, pork, or tofu) for a flavorful dish.

    2. BBQ Sauce: You can combine ketchup with brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and spices to create your own BBQ sauce. Use it for grilling or as a dipping sauce.

    3. Meatloaf: Incorporate ketchup into your meatloaf mixture, or use it as a glaze on top for added flavor.

    4. Chili: Add a couple of tablespoons of ketchup to your chili recipe for a touch of sweetness and depth of flavor.

    5. Eggs: Try mixing ketchup with scrambled eggs or using it as a condiment for omelets or shakshuka.

    6. Pizza sauce: Use ketchup as a base for homemade pizza sauce. Just add some Italian herbs, garlic, and a bit of sugar for balance.

    7. Deviled Eggs: Mix some ketchup into your deviled egg filling for a unique twist.

    8. Baked Beans: Stir ketchup into your baked beans for added sweetness and tanginess.

    9. Ketchup Soup: Believe it or not, some people make a simple soup using ketchup, broth, and spices!

    10. Donation: If you still find you won’t use it, consider donating some bottles to a local food bank or community center.

Hopefully, one of these suggestions will help you make a dent in your ketchup stash!
