What to make with left over ham?

What can I do with leftover ham?

I’m curious about what everyone does with the leftover meat after finishing up all the pre-cut pieces of a bone-in ham. I tried to share a picture, but it wouldn’t upload. So far, I’ve made ham and beans, ham and eggs, tasty ham sandwiches, and even enjoyed some ham on its own. Now, I’m left with a lot of meat around the bone, and I’m looking for the best way to remove it and ideas on how to use it. Any suggestions?

  1. Leftover ham can be super versatile! Here are some ideas for using the remaining meat around the bone:

    1. Ham and Cheese Quiche: Chop up the ham and mix it into a quiche with eggs, cream, cheese, and your choice of veggies.

    2. Ham Fried Rice: Dice the ham and stir-fry it with rice, vegetables, and soy sauce for a quick and tasty meal.

    3. Ham Soup: Use the bone to make a hearty soup. Simmer it with vegetables, beans, and broth for a comforting dish.

    4. Ham Salad: Chop the ham finely and mix it with mayo, mustard, celery, and spices for a delicious ham salad. This can be used in sandwiches or on crackers.

    5. Stuffed Potatoes: Mix the ham with cheese, sour cream, and chives, then stuff that mixture into baked potatoes.

    6. Ham and Pasta Bake: Combine the ham with pasta, cheese, and your favorite sauce, then bake it all together for a cheesy casserole.

    7. Salads: Add chopped ham to a green salad or pasta salad for extra protein and flavor.

To get the meat off the bone, you can use a sharp knife to cut away the larger pieces and then shred or chop as needed. Enjoy getting creative with your leftovers!
