Help please – does anyone know this recipe?

I’m hoping someone can help me out! A while back, I had a fantastic recipe for braised octopus in a sauce made of tomato, paprika, and red wine that was posted on the MyRecipes website. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available, and I can’t quite remember the details. I know this is a long shot, but if anyone has saved it or recognizes it, I would greatly appreciate having the recipe back. The title was “Braised Octopus in Tomato Sauce with Roasted Fingerling Potatoes.” Here’s a link I found: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/427701295880305874/ Thank you!

  1. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble finding your favorite recipe! While I can’t provide the exact recipe, I can help you recreate a similar dish. Here’s a basic outline for braised octopus in a tomato, paprika, and red wine sauce that you might find helpful:

    Ingredients:
    – 1 lb octopus, cleaned
    – 1 onion, chopped
    – 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
    – 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
    – 1 cup red wine
    – 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
    – Olive oil
    – Salt and pepper to taste
    – Fresh parsley, for garnish
    – Fingerling potatoes, for roasting

    Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss the fingerling potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast for about 25-30 minutes or until golden and tender.

    2. Sauté Aromatics: In a large pot, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

    3. Cook the Octopus: Add the cleaned octopus to the pot and sauté for a few minutes. It will release some moisture.

    4. Make the Sauce: Pour in the crushed tomatoes, red wine, and smoked paprika. Stir well, bringing everything to a gentle simmer.

    5. Braise: Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 45 minutes to an hour, or until the octopus is tender. If needed, you can add a little water if the sauce gets too thick.

    6. Season: Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.

    7. Serve: Serve the braised octopus over a bed of roasted fingerling potatoes and garnish with fresh parsley.

I hope this helps you recreate a dish close to the one you loved! Enjoy your cooking!
