Instant pot cooked roast with fresh veggies times?

Instant Pot Venison Neck Roast with Fresh Veggies: Cook Time Recommendations

I’m looking for suggestions on how long to cook my venison neck roast in the Instant Pot with some fresh veggies. I made the roast Saturday night and want to repurpose it for a pot roast.

I’m unsure how long to cook already cooked meat, especially when it comes to temperature as well. I was thinking of setting it to 240°F for about an hour and adding some baby potatoes and sweet onions. I couldn’t find any gravy mix at home, so I opted for a can of beef gravy instead. Any advice would be appreciated! 😅

  1. Cooking already cooked meat in the Instant Pot is a great way to reheat and infuse flavor! Since your venison neck roast is already cooked, you’ll want to focus on warming it up while also tenderizing the veggies. Here’s a suggestion:

    1. Temperature: You can use the Slow Cook setting on your Instant Pot at around 240°F (as you’ve mentioned), or use the manual pressure cook option for faster results.

    2. Cook Time: If you’re using the pressure cook option, I’d recommend cooking it for about 10–15 minutes on high pressure. This will heat up the roast without overcooking it. After the cooking time is up, do a quick release.

    3. Veggies: Toss in the baby potatoes and sweet onions, and feel free to add in some carrots or celery if you have them. Make sure there’s enough liquid (like the can of beef gravy) to create steam for the Instant Pot.

    4. Liquid: Since you’re using a can of beef gravy, you can pour that into the pot along with a bit of water or broth for extra moisture.

    5. Final Touch: After cooking, let everything rest for a few minutes before serving. You can also thicken the gravy if you prefer it that way!

Enjoy your pot roast! It sounds delicious!
