  1. Surf and turf is such a delicious combination! Here’s a classic recipe that balances the flavors of steak and shrimp perfectly, along with some favorite sides to elevate your meal:

    Surf & Turf Recipe

    Ingredients:
    For the Steak:
    – 2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut)
    – Salt and pepper, to taste
    – 2 tablespoons olive oil
    – 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    – 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    – Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)

    • For the Grilled Shrimp:
    • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • Juice of 1 lemon
    • Salt, pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes

    Instructions:
    1. Prepare the Steaks:
    – Let the steaks sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper.
    – Heat a skillet (cast iron works well!) over high heat. Add the olive oil.
    – Once the oil is hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
    – In the last minute of cooking, add butter, garlic, and herbs. Baste the steaks with the melted butter, then remove from heat and let rest for 5-10 minutes.

    1. For the Grilled Shrimp:
    2. In a bowl, combine shrimp, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Let marinate for about 15 minutes.
    3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes per side until they are pink and opaque.

    Recommended Sides:

    1. Garlic Mashed Potatoes:
    2. Creamy mashed potatoes with roasted garlic for added flavor. Top with chives or parsley.

    3. Grilled Asparagus:

    4. Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then grill for about 5-7 minutes until tender.

    5. Caesar Salad:

    6. A classic Caesar salad with crisp romaine, homemade croutons, parmesan cheese, and a creamy dressing.

    7. Herb Butter Corn on the Cob:

    8. Boil or grill corn and slather with a mixture of butter, garlic, fresh parsley, and a squeeze of lime.

    Serving:

Plate the steak and shrimp alongside the sides for a beautiful, colorful presentation. Drizzle some extra lemon butter over the shrimp and steak for an added burst of flavor. Enjoy your gourmet meal!
